My Boat in Lodge on Lake of The Woods

My boat in lodge on lake of the woods
Same week every year

Stories grow but still feel new
Laughing just the same
Kids now fishing like we did
Carrying the flame

Same crew shows up
Traditions that do good
Makin’ memories like we should
Stronger than we could

This reunion will not end
We’ll be back again

Song Lyrics for ‘My Boat-in Lodge on Lake of The Woods’ Song

When I think about what makes Saarela’s special, I love the cabins and the boats… but I think about the people I get to see again.

I think about the same week every year.

The same crew showing up at the dock of our Boat-in Lodge… a little older, a little wiser… and somehow laughing at the exact same stories like no time has passed at all.

And then I notice something else.

The kids who used to sit in the middle of the boat…
are now the ones running it.

– That’s when it really hits me.

This isn’t just a fishing trip.

This is a tradition that reconnects families.

We see it every season.

Groups that started as friends… become families.
Trips that started as “just one time”… turn into something you plan your whole year around.

And those stories?

They don’t fade.

They grow.

This year, we want to do something a little different.

We want to start capturing those stories the way they deserve to be remembered.

Not just in your memory… but in a way that lives on.

So here’s what we’re inviting you to do when you come up this season:

  • Bring your camera… take more photos than usual
  • Capture those moments at the dock, on the water, around the table
  • Take a few short Lake of The Woods videos during your trip
  • And if you can, put together a simple YouTube video recap when you get home

Nothing fancy.

Just real moments.

Your trip, your people, your story.

Because here’s the legacy…

Those stories don’t just mean something to you.

They mean something to all your extended family – even to those who are not yet born.

Your stories may help a father imagine bringing his son.
Your stories may help a group of friends decide to finally organize that trip they’ve been talking about for years.

And when you share your story… you become part of something bigger.

We’re going to be featuring more of these guest stories this year—on our website, in our updates, and throughout the season.

The photos on our page on Facebook.
The videos on our YouTube Guest Playlist.
The memories that make this place what it is.

Because Saarela’s Moonlite Bay Lodge has never just been about us.

It’s always been about you.

So when you’re packing for your trip this year…

Throw in the camera.

Take the extra photo.

Hit record a few more times than you normally would.

Because years from now… those are the moments your family will come back to.

And if we do this right…

This reunion never really ends.

We’ll see you again soon.
